I just wanted to say thank you so much for being so welcoming these last couple of weeks. Your encouraging postcards and emails truly motivated me to continue showing up.
Where I came from people are typically not very personable or genuine, and that’s something I’m still getting used to here in Juneau. I’m really glad I found this community and I am so grateful to be part of it.
I’ve started mapping out my personal goals to continue advancing in Karate. I can’t wait to learn more.

"Wanted to share something with you that happened last night….
After class, our son went down to use the mall's bathroom.
When he was coming out, he saw the janitor. He walked up to the gentleman and thanked him for cleaning the mall. The janitor replied, “thank you, no one ever said that to me.”
I was very proud of him for this action. When I asked him why he did that now, He stated look at the bathroom, it is a mess….
I wanted you to know that your “tasks” you tell the kids to perform maybe are forgot by many, but are heard by some. Not just saying the words, but rather the meaning and thought behind the words.
Thank you for help teaching our son how to be a good, and respectful person..
